Using version control software like git can help you back up your work, develop new ideas, and collaborate with others. It helps you to keep track of all historic versions of your Rscript, Jupyter notebook, or even your thesis! (No more Thesis_final_final_final.md). During this short workshop, we will introduce you to git, some user-friendly methods to apply it, and social networks that use git to share your work (like Github and Gitlab).
The workshop will be held on Friday November 15th, 9:00-13:00, in the Buchelius room (6.18) of the Utrecht University Library (Uithof). The workshop will be given by OSCU-members Laura Dijkhuizen (PhD candidate Biology) and Barbara Vreede (University Library). You will need to bring your own laptop. Spots are limited, so registration is mandatory! You can register via https://forms.gle/TXu7AHczr8Xj43sa7
If you are already a fan of git: we can use your help! We still need helpers for this workshop. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
