SUMMARY:OSCoffee - Open Science in Grant Proposals
DESCRIPTION:Host: Maria Cruz (NWO)\n\nResearcher funders play a crucial rol
 e in promoting Open Science\, typically by implementing policies that aim
 to increase public access to scholarly outputs. These policies are often m
 otivated by ethical\, moral and utilitarian arguments. But what’s in it
 for you the researcher? This session will start by taking a brief look at
 what NWO does in the area of Open Science. Partly inspired by the paper
 “How open science helps researchers succeed” by Erin C McKiernan et al
 . (2016\,https://doi.org/10.7554/eLife.16800)\, we will then take a resear
 cher-centric approach in outlining the benefits of open research practices
 . We will look at examples of best practice and how to practice open scien
 ce within the evolving academic incentives frameworks. There will be oppor
 tunity for discussion\, and for sharing tips and ideas. Please come prepar
 ed to share!\n\n&nbsp\;
